The Calathea makoyana has distinctive glossy ornamental leaves with stunning feathered variegation, adding a bold, colourful element to any houseplant collection.  

Also known as the Peacock Plant, due to the the patterned foliage resembling a peacock’s tail, they are easy to care for and pet friendly. Native to Brazil. 

The Calathea genus contains some of the most recognisable houseplants which can also be identified under the Geoppertia genus. These plants can be found natively across the tropical rainforests of South America.

Calathea are part of the Marantaceae family which are known for their ability to move their leaves depending on available light. This is known as nastic movement. Calathea are a great pet friendly houseplant option.
